The National Health Care for the Homeless Council understands and acknowledges the requirements and challenges of service delivery to persons experiencing homelessness, and as part of its mission, the Council works in alliance with other individuals and organizations whose broader purpose is to eliminate homelessness and provide support to individuals and agencies working in this field. As a National Cooperative Agreement (NCA) for Health Care for the Homeless programs, the Council is federally funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to provide support in the form of training and technical assistance to all Health Center Programs across the nation receiving funds through Section 330(h) of the Public Health Service Act.
