The National Health Care for the Homeless Council is now accepting Steering Committee nominations for its three membership groups: the HCH Clinicians’ Network, National Consumer Advisory Board, and Respite Care Providers’ Network. Read below to learn more about these committees and how to nominate yourself or a colleague for a position on them.
All nominations must be submitted by February 28, 2019.
HCH Clinicians’ Network Steering Committee
The HCH Clinicians’ Network Steering Committee offers professional development opportunities, networking, and support to clinicians who provide care for people experiencing homelessness. These leadership roles are open to hands-on providers in any discipline. Applications from oral health providers, pharmacists, podiatrists, occupational and physical therapists, substance abuse counselors, psychiatrists, mental health nurse practitioners, and clinicians working in rural areas are especially encouraged
National Consumer Advisory Board Steering Committee
The National Consumer Advisory Board (NCAB) is made up of people who are or have previously experienced homelessness who have been clients of Health Care for the Homeless programs and are involved in the governance of those programs. NCAB serves as a vehicle for consumers of HCH projects to become a collaborative voice on national issues. The Steering Committee is led by a chair, two co-chairs, a peer advocate, 3 members at large, and 5 regional representatives who help NCAB achieve its mission.
Respite Care Providers’ Network Steering Committee
We invite you to nominate yourself, a colleague, or a program participant for a position on the Council’s Respite Care Providers’ Network (RCPN) Steering Committee. The RCPN Steering Committee helps guide the work of the Council as it relates to medical respite care, meeting monthly by teleconference and annually in person at the Council’s Leadership Summit and National HCH Conference. Nominees must be current RCPN members who have been members for at least one year.
